ABOUT THE WRITER
Maria Quinn’s writing
career began as an advertising copywriter. After
working in the US and Canada, she moved to a London agency, as Creative
Director.

Returning to Australia some years later to raise a family, she launched a second career
as magazine editor, feature writer and
columnist.
During her career, Maria has
been Beauty
editor of Vogue, Editor of
House & Garden,
founding Editor of Interiors
Magazine
and Editor of
Homelovers' series of
magazine titles.
Her television credits
include presenting on the Nine Network's current
affairs

programme 'No Man's Land' and
Channel 10's 'Good Morning Sydney'
and producing the long-running
cookery
programme King’s
Kitchen.
Now she is writing fiction
and her first novel 'The Gene Thieves' was released by Harper/Voyager in
March 2009.
Maria Quinn is the winner of
the 2007 Todhunter Literary
Award for short story
and the
recipient of a prestigious
Varuna
fellowship.
She lives in Sydney
with her husband,
her dog Griffin and has two wonderful sons,one gorgeous
daughter-in-law
and three
amazing grandchildren.
